ELECTRIC PUMPS

Blackhawk positive-displacement piston pumps feature an all-weather electric drive motor above the wellhead, connected with high-quality downhole components. The pumping action is similar to that of an oilfield pump jack.

How Electric Piston Pumps Work

Above the wellhead:

A drive motor is matched to one of three power sources — pneumatic, electric or solar. The motor pushes and pulls a durable, flexible drive rod connected to a reciprocating piston near the bottom of the well.

Our electric pumps are reciprocating rod, positive-displacement piston pumps powered by industrial-quality compressed air. The motor is at surface grade, above the wellhead for easy installation and maintenance. Power to the pump is direct from surface through the sucker-rod assembly. The fluid inlet is at the pump bottom intake and removes fluid to 0 submergence depth.

Below the wellhead:

Low-flow pumping action pulls liquid from the well without disturbing the formation:

  • The flexible fiberglass drive rod, enclosed in a riser-pipe cylinder, connects the motor to the piston in a pump barrel.
  • As the motor pulls up the rod, the piston creates suction at pump intake.
  • Liquid is pulled through a strainer into the foot valve.
  • Stainless-steel balls in the reciprocating piston and foot valve open naturally to allow liquid into the piston, then close to prevent liquid from returning.
  • The pumping action lifts liquid up the riser pipe with each stroke; the liquid exits a discharge tee above the wellhead.

ANCHOR ELECTRIC®

The Anchor Electric® piston pump is powered by electricity. The control motor is located at surface grade for easy installation and maintenance. Above-well drive motor provides linear reciprocating pump action from grade through the sucker-rod assembly. The reciprocating pump removes water and product (e.g., oil, solvents, leachate) with a 1 hp motor at 50 Hz. The fluid inlet is located at the bottom of the pump intake cylinder and removes water or product to 0 submergence depth. It is perfectly suited to groundwater pump and remediation pump applications.

Technical Data Sheets

Model 101 removes water and product (e.g., oil, solvents, leachate) from a two-inch (4.85 cm) diameter well casing or greater, to depths of 804 feet (245 meters) with a 1 hp motor at 50 Hz.

Model 102 removes water and product (e.g., oil, solvents, leachate) from a three-inch (7.62 cm) diameter well casing or greater, to depths of 350 feet (106 meters) with a 1 hp motor at 50 Hz.

APOLLO-AC

APOLLO-AC®

The Apollo-AC Electric Piston Pump™ is designed in response to customers’ desire for a grid-power version of the highly regarded Apollo Solar Piston Pump™ and its simple, linear-rod driver. In addition to lower prices and lower amp draws, the Apollo-AC combines the convenience and constancy of 24/7 grid power with the reliability, low maintenance and easy installation that define Apollo pumps.

As with other Blackhawk top-head-drive piston pumps, all power and driver mechanical components are cleanly and safely above the wellhead. There is no high-pressure air or electricity introduced below surface grade. The pumps, which are not affected by changes in differential pressure either in the bore or on the surface, are environmentally friendly and do not emit greenhouse gases. The Apollo-AC Electric employs a 3/8-hp, DC motor operating from converted AC grid electricity. The unit can be installed at any angle to horizontal and pumps virtually anything flowable.
